Dubrovnik - Ston - Delta of river "Neretva"
Dubrovnik, surrounded by the ancient walls and fortresses, looks like a precious pearl surrounded by sea. It is also an architectural value and the treasury of the fine arts which have been conserving and protecting through the centuries in the tempestuous but proud history of the Republic. Picturesque palaces, old churches and monasteries, old libraries, treasuries, stony streets and squares are only a small part you can see and feel from the past of this town. The visit of the Duke Palace and one of the oldest pharmacies in Europe (14th century) is possible.
The historical small town of Ston, with its famous walls and numerous cultural and historical monuments, is one of the most beautiful examples of a fortified town and Dubrovnik architecture. The restaurants offer domestic specialities, especially oysters, as well as other seafood.
Ston is also known for its saltworks, and the coast along the Channel and in the Prapratna cove provides fine swimming, fishing and underwater fishing opportunities. The beautiful sand beach is ornamented with centuries-old olive trees, and one of the most excellent campsites of the region is situated in this scenery. Apart from water sports, there are many sports grounds designed for tourists' recreation.
The trip lasts 3 or 4 h, through beautiful landscapes of Dalmatian beaches, valley of river Neretva and on return is possible to have lunch in Mali Ston which is famous for its century long tradition of oyster production in one of many exclusive restaurants.
