WHERE in Croatia?

Zagreb - the Croatian capital, great for historical and cultural heritage. Zagreb is a big Croatian tourist centre, not only in terms of transit from West and Central Europe to the Adriatic Sea but also as a tourist destination. Zagreb is not only rich in cultural and historical monuments, museums and galleries. It is a big centre of congress tourism, economic and business events and trade fairs not only in Croatia but also in this part of Europe. Being an important junction point, it has road, air, railway and bus connections with European metropolises and all bigger cities and tourist resorts in Croatia.

Hrvatsko zagorje - a hilly region of vineyards, castles, mansions and cozy villages...On the small territory with a great tradition are located beautiful castles and manor houses, the fascinating ethnologic village in Kumrovec including the birthplace of Josip Broz Tito - a major figure in world history.

Dubrovnik - “For those who seek paradise on Earth should come to Dubrovnik and see Dubrovnik”-said B. Shaw.
Dubrovnik, surrounded by the ancient walls and fortresses, looks like a precious pearl surrounded by sea. It is also an architectural value and the treasury of the fine arts which have been conserving and protecting through the centuries in the tempestuous but proud history of the Republic. Picturesque palaces, old churches and monasteries, old libraries, treasuries, stony streets and squares are only a small part you can see and feel from the past of this town. The visit of the Duke Palace and one of the oldest pharmacies in Europe (14th century) is possible.

Plitvice - Situated in the thick one hundred years old forest, the Plitvice lakes are considered to be one the most beautiful national phenomena in the world. Six lakes are connected by 92 waterfalls, whose cascades make the unique surrounding. It was declared the national park in 1949 and since 1979 it has been under the UNESCO protection.

Brijuni -According to legend angels collected the remains of Eden and created a lasting symbol for mankind, an oasis of peace and a wondrous gift of nature protected by the waves.
The Brijuni National and Memorial Park is one of the brightest pearls of natural beauty in Pula's vicinity and, alongside the Kornati islands, it is one of the most well-known island groups in the Adriatic. What makes the Brijuni islands so attractive is the abundance and variety of untouched plant and animal life and numerous monuments from various periods.

Dalmatia - Dalmatia has, for a long time, been famous in the tourism world for its clean sea, abundance of sun, natural beauty, and particularly for its cultural monumental heritage and the cultural events (Passion heritage, games of knighthood, folk songs, folklore, and festivals).

The Adriatic Sea, as the most beautiful bay of the Mediterranean Sea, gently splashes upon the shores of Dalmatia and its thousand islands, islets, and cliffs. The transparency of the Adriatic Sea is greatest around the outermost Dalmatian islands, where it reaches 56 meters in depth.
The largest rivers in Dalmatia are the Neretva, Cetina, Krka, and Zrmanja. These rivers are suitable for canoeing and rafting, and since they flow through rocky areas, they present true oases. Their riverbeds are of exceptional natural beauty.

Gorski Kotar - a mountainous region, so called” The walleye of butterfly”, half way between the inland and Adriatic cost. Because of its mountainous scenery and lush greenness, its fogs and long winters, because of its rich forests and crystal-clear brooks, the abundance of mushrooms and medical herbs, the numerous caves, sinkholes and gorges, Gorski kotar is quite unique, different from any other part of Croatia. At present, the entire region is trying to re-define its modern tourist identity and image by combining the local tourist tradition and the contemporary trends in the hospitality industry. - then look for Gorski kotar on your own way.
